Chakka Varatti or Traditional Prepared Jackfruit Preserve is a Traditional Kerala Delicacy made from very ripe Jackfruit which is known for its rich, Sweet Flavor and thick, syrupy Texture. This is made during the Summer Times when the Jack Fruits are available in abundance. This preserved Jackfruit Treat is made by cooking ripe Jackfruit with Jaggery (unrefined Sugar) until it becomes a thick, sticky, and caramelized Mixture. It is typically used as a Spread or Filling for various Sweets or enjoyed on its own as a delightful Snack. It can be stored for several Months, and served as an year-round Treat.
